You could drop a 95 or 96 Impala motor in it, but start with the Exhaust and get it free flowing, maybe new Vortec heads, and an Edelbrock intake for fuel injection
and a larger thottle body

The stock horsepower rating is 170 for 1991.

If you want to pick up a quick 20-25 horsepower and a couple mpg. Switch to a K&N filter (or equivalent brand) and get the exhaust worked on. A hi-flow catalytic converter is a must and put a good turbo muffler on (such as a dynomax).

In 91 it was 170 for the 305 I owned 2 of them,my one has bored out blue printed throtle body, 1.6 roller rocker arms, headers dual exhaust, hypertec computer chip, advances timing requires premium gas, electric radiator fans, makes for nothing special , just ok
