chevy casting #

I have an engine that I was told was a 350. Sound familiar? The Stamped numbers on the front of the block are T0402CPB and 16N198 10 which leads me to believe it is a '76 305 from a camaro but the casting number is 855909 and I haven't found this listed anywhere. Can someone tell me what I have? Thanks

This is what you should have on the pad for casting #.
355909.....262.....75....2
355909.....305...76-79...2
I think you have the # down wrong the( 8)55909 is probably 355909 for the 305 or the 262 engine from 75 to 79 IMHO , did you get this from the back of the block on the pad by the distributor were the bell-housing meets the block ? So i would say it is the 305 mopre then likely. JMO

I have the engine mounted low and as close to the firewall as possible, so hard to get my head in there It could be 355909 but it sure looked like an 8.

Yep i know sometimes these #s are hard to really tell what they are, and alot of people do confuse the 3 with the 8 and vice versa. JMO

Code-- Year-- CID-- Vehicle---- HP-- RPO-- Trans-- Carb
CPB---- 76--- 305-- Nova----- 140-- LG3-- TH350-- 2-Brl
CPB---- 76--- 305-- Chevelle-- 140- LG3--- TH350-- 2-Brl
CPB---- 76--- 305-- Camaro-- 140-- LG3--- TH350-- 2-Brl

CPB code also shows a 267ci but, casting # isn't correct for a 267.
