chevy engine I.D. number

where do I find the number on the block to find the mfg date of the engine?

Ususally on the right front head pad, behind the ALT. If the block has been decked in the past, that info will be machined off in the milling process.

14093627 casting used in 1987 only. 305 cubic inch. One piece rear main seal. Installed in Pass. Monte, Malibu, and Camaro.
