Chevy engine swap info needed
can anyone tell me if the 305 V8 out of a 94 chevy 1/2 ton pickup can be replaced with a 350 out of my 84 chevy 1/2 ton pickup? just change intakes?
the 305 is throttle body, but I would just put that intake on the 355 right? thanks in advance for any help I also noticed that the oil filter location is a little different, would that matter? I know it it is not allowed to be easy, right?

The flexplate would have to be changed since the 84 engine will be a 2 piece seal crank flange. The rest is pretty much a bolt up. However, you`ll need a 350 knock sensor, 350 injectors, and a ECM chip from a TBI truck that had a 350, otherwise it`ll run too lean. The TBI`s 4 center intake bolts are a different angle so you`d have to slot the intake with a die grinder or swap heads. Slotting the intake isn`t hard and is often done. If you plan to keep the serpentine belt arrangement and I certainly would, you`ll need to use the 305`s water pump.
