Chevy Flywheel Casting's
Anybody have a good website or two for flywheel casting numbers? I have seen tons of info on blocks, heads, etc. but what I need on flywheels.

Hi m4696,,, I have a site i got from NastyZ28 a while ago.... my bookmark says small block chev eng ID Menu... Hope this helps jim

Some of the old GM part books list casting numbers. Look up part and in part discription it lists the cast #

You likely have a Mercruiser 330 horsepower (boat) 454 externally balanced flywheel from what I found on that number. If so- the clutch surface will be painted as they only used 6 of the outer bolt holes to mount the drive to.
It would be fine to use in a vehicle with a manual transmission, just get the clutch surface cleaned up, not sure if the balance differences are the same or different for 400 small block and 454, or even the external balanced 350's for that matter, not much floating around here for that info, or on the net either.
