Chevy HP ratings

I'm trying to figure out HP ratings, I have a 72 250 inline 6 most of the websites I've checked show it around 150hp, I did find a couple listing it as 105hp. I think sometime in the late 60's early 70's they changed how they rated HP. Now I'm getting to my real question. 4.3 or 5.7 depending on the year the V6 4.3 have a rating of 155-225 hp. I've got a 92 350 TBI truck engine from what I've read it's around 190 HP. I was considering the 4.3 because of weight but if my 250 is already 150 HP it doesn't seem worth the trouble. So I'm leading towards the 350 mainly for the mileage over the 250. Could somebody help me with this HP thing the 250 only gets around 10 Mpg. Thanks, Eric

lol stop looking at horse power. You want a large and long TORQUE band.

Horsepower looks good on paper but torque does the job.

You are right they did change the way they tested horsepower, Thus the birth of ASE!
