Chevy Mechanical Fuel Pump Hook-up?

2 Fittings on Pump, one is hard line and other is Hose! Which fitting goes to Carb? Thanks!

The hard lined fitting is the outlet to the carb.
























































How come I keep getting the feeling, this is a setup question.
