Chevy motor mounts will not fit!

Am I unlucky or what? Some time ago I bought a pair of motor mounts for a '69 Chevelle with 307.They simply would not fit around the chassis brackets.Tight by a whole 1/4"! Arrow brand. Now I imported a new pair for a 502 into '61 Impala instalation.Same problem! And this time I got AC Delco from Year one, thinking they would be the best... Anyone else got screwed out there?

I ran across the same problem. Had a 307 in my 70 chevelle and dropped a 350 in it. bought new mounts but didnt fit. had to beat the crap out them. I called OPG (who i bought them from) and they said i would need to buy frame mounts to fit correctly due to 307s having some sort of oddity to them (beats me). It wasnt anything a BFH and some muscle didnt take care of.

Chang Lu, Kabullah, and Jose probably don't have the ability to do metric to standard conversions very well.

Nope.Pry bars will open the walls enough just to begin insertion, but not enough at the main plate where the rivets are.In other words, you end up with a parallelogram that still does not fit.And these units from Delco/Year One are quite expensive too.Judging by the looks the Arrow unit and the Delco are identical. In my opinion they are made by the same bad company and just boxed by different retailers. It simply sucks to have to spend time with something so straightforward as mounts.Be aware guys.
