chevy OD trans for a 350

I am putting a 383 together for my 56 F100. I need an OD manual(not electronic) controled trans rec?? What about a 700R4?
The motor is mild with a torque cam and the truck is not a race truck

thats the way to go but there not cheap expect to pay around 1200 for a good rebiult unit

200r4 . 1 ign hot wire is all thats needed for lock up . better box too .
