I wanted a new 90 SS 454 pickup bad ... But they were bringing 3 to 5 thousand dollars over the sticker price so I bought a black Silverado short bed with the 350 and the O/D transmission. Within 4 years ... with gas being the price it is ... most 454 SS trucks were selling for less than the standard ones.

I have a friend who has a 90 SS 454 ( bought it NEW ) and he has a Gear Vendors OD added to the rear of the Turbo 400 on his. It increased his mileage to around 15 mpg ... from the 10 or 11 it was getting.
