chevy Power Steering
Hello all,
I have an 87 chevy truck that came with a 4.3L, and I am putting a 383 stroker in it. Now for the Question's, going to buy a new power steering pump should I get one for the 4.3L or 5.7L? Whats the difference? Is the mounting to the block the same? Thanks, Scoops

Chances are good that they are the same pump, If it mounts to your engine brackets you should be all set. You will have to fab up new lines unless your will reach.

They very well might be the same pump. Look it up on a parts store website, like Napa, Advance Auto or AutoZone. If they are different, I might guess it could be valving and not mounting; go down to the local store and compare (I can’t imagine different style hose connections on the same year truck). From the front, the 4.3 should be identical to the 5.7. I know guys are using serp setups out of 4.3 trucks in V8 Camaros.
If they are different and the mounting is the same, get the one for the 4.3.
