chevy small block

I have a small block chevy motor. I can hit 9 grand on the tach. The motor is all original. The most powerful small block i have ever had. The casting number is 3970010. The engine VIN code is 12J11369V005CKB. Can you please tell me what this is. I'm trying to figure out what type of engine I have on my hands. 7400 without floating the valves on a relay tach. 3in stroke, 4in bore, and a 11:1 compression, and has an original holly 800 dual feed carb 3910.

Thank You,

Tim

If your hitting 9000 the engine isn't stock, 010 blocks were used for 69 302 and 327's and a bunch of years for 350's what is the casting # on the heads? if the last three digits are 186 you could have a 302 Z28 engine, if so It's worth some big $$$ there pretty rare now days, either way It's not stock hitting that RPM
Good luck

Respectfully, I think your tach needs re-calibrating.

Which shop told you that? I'm in Wausau too, and I'd love to know which shop to avoid....

I think you or they got that one backwards, a performance shop may mill/deck the block & the factory VIN#'s stamped on pad at passenger side front of block would be gone if it's decked enough.

Thank You,

That would suggest a DZ 302. They are the motor that GM won the '67 and '68 Trans am races with. One of the hottest factory motors they ever made and highly sought after by collectors. Is it in a Camaro? If so you may have a very valuable car..
