Chevy TH350 Speedo gear Questions?

In my 84 Cutlass I have.....Chevy 383 w/350 trans, 3:73 rearend & my wheels & tires stand 29.3 inches tall. I'm installing a Nordskog digital gauge cluster. It says in the installation guide that the electric speedo sender reads the pulses from the trans. My question is.........Do I have to have the correct drive & driven gears (for my rearend & tire diameter) for the gauge to read acurately? The driven gear in there now is a 19 tooth & looks white/off-whitish. I can barely see the drive gear with the trans in the car. Thanx in advance.

This place should have what you need or be able to tell you about the pulse generator needed.

I believe all the speedometer units from Nordskog are can be calibrated after installation (most any electric speedo is like this these days). So, it shouldn't matter what drive/driven gears you have in your trans - you'll just need to calibrate it typically against a known speed after installation. How-to should be in the documentation that comes with the unit or is probably available on-line.
