Chevy Truck Chopped top 7 inches... :)
Has anybody chopped a 3 window 1948 Chevy truck top down 7 inches??
I just purchased a 48 Chevy truck with a 7 inch chopped top. It looks REAL good and was done by a body shop. The seat riser was taken out and seems to have head room to spare. I dont have anything in the cab right now (bare bones) to tell what kind of room i have. Most people chop 3 to 4 inches from the top????????? bg

I will post some pics when i get the body on the frame. I just got a new GM crate motor ZZ4 and starting to get put in this winter. Maybe i will get the body started on next year!!!
I need a good bed if anybody got one ...... i have a pair of glass fenders and running boards that i am going to replace with steel in the future. Merry X mas to all!!!! Bg

I've got a good bed but you'll have to furnish your own blankets and pillows. Seriously sounds like a great find, good luck with it and Merry Christmas to you.

For Christmas my friend gave me a 53 chev pickup cab that has been chopped 4 in front and 3 in back. I want to chop it more though...How tall are you? You say that you have head room to spare? post some pics when you get a chance.

The front windshield is about 9 inches tall ..... If i remember correct!!!!

i chopped my 48 7 inches in the back and 8 1/4 in front and set it back on and with a seat im not gonna use but i just put it in to check head clearance and i think it came out of a older blazer and it still has all the latches and a tall seat riser on it and i barely have to bend over but when i go to get my permanent seat without a seat riser i will have plenty of clearance.

It's good to hear from somebody else who has an EXTREME chopped chevy truck!!!
It did't know what this truck would look like with a 7inch chop top until the other day i got my Pro's Pick bed and put it on.Then the whole picture came together and i think it looks great!!!! I will try and post a picture??????
