chevy truck just died going down the road

i was driving my 2003 chevy silverdo 1500 (gas) today, and out of no where with no sign it just died, as if some one shut off the key... i have power the lights come on, interior lights are working, but the gauges dont seem to come on or move. im bot sure what fuse it could be.

have you tried putting an obd2 code reader on it?

When my 90 dies like that its usually the ignition module.

Battery cable ????

it sounds like it may be the fusable link from the battery to the alternator but may know more if it still cranks if not it could be a fuseable link that goes 2 the starter

an 03 wouldn't have an ignition module in the same sense that your 90 does...it's a coil-on-plug engine.

my first move would be to grab a test light, and check every single fuse in the fuse box.. only takes a minute or two and is good piece of mind.

same prob did u find it?

my 94 gmc is doing the same thing except all power goes, lights and all.the alt gauge drops, and i end up on the side of the road. had the module and fuel pump changed, no good. pls let me know

antwan..I have heard of several folks having this same issue.....turned out to be the Crankshaft position Sensor..
let us know what you find

Check the fusable links and all the grounds for a start.

Yep...I wasn't wearing my glasses when I made the reply...oooops
Caught the mistake after it was too late....
Gotta admit though I had a a good idea what the problem was..
Today was my first day on this site and I think it is too cool.
