Chevy volt

Hope this is not a redundant post. Just wondering what folks think about the chevy volt? Supposed to be in production in 2010, and doesn't use any fuel if driven less than 40 miles. A fully discharged battery will yield around 50mpg. Trips of 60 miles yield roughly 150mpg.

I was really excited to see that GM is going to be first to market with this concept. Its exactly what we need, less foreign oil, more american cars on the road and people building them here in the states.

I almost wonder if you're going to start seeing people have gas go bad in their tanks because they don't drive it enough to use up the gas!

Any opinions about the volt?

Your points are all valid, however, I have my doubts about the success of the Volt - - - and I sincerely pray that I am wrong !
