Here is something that does make sense. I have followed the resale value of the older 2000~2006 Honda Insight, the first hybrid that with its aluminum body, wheel pants, and flat under-body is a true hyper-miler. This car is a 65+ mpg vehicle, and every time fuel goes up in price fast, like it is now, so does the resale value of this car. The Volt is a real electric drive with a gas range extender, so you plug it in. The Prius and Insight you still just drive like any old car. Americans used to innovate and embrace change, just like when Kennedy made that claim in 1963 that we would put a man on the moon and return him to earth. What ever happened to that spirit? The folks that are bashing GM's attempts are the same ones that didn't think we could go to the moon IMHO.
