I don't care of the reason, though will admit Obama was enamored with the Volt. Each job saved for GM saved 10 support jobs. Plus, since we can't produce our way out of foreign oil dependance without destroying our ground water, the only way to reduce our need for foreign oil would be to reduce domestic consumption.
