C & A used to serialize all their parts with documentation and that included any repairs they did to it.The part your describing is the creme-de-cremen of C & A.Ask the seller if he has any documentation to go with the sale.

they are top of the line parts, offer to meet the seller at a machine shop and have them mag it(at your cost) you'd be having that done anyways and it's cheap. and let them measure it..
I'd buy c/a used before I buy scat or eagle new..
the machinest will tell you if the cranks bent, been repaired, been reground, ot has cracks..
for the c-note to have it checked(and even new parts you should do the same) it's not all that costly.. if the seller isn't willing to take the parts to a shop to be looked at.. thats your answer right there.

well, Ive decided to buy it tomorrow. Talked and he accepted an offer. After I buy it, Ill take it to my machinist to be checked out. But, other than the obvious, whats some little things I can look for as a red flag?

Remember I told you to not buy without measuring it and a close inspection.

Well, I picked up the parts. Took it to my machinist and he says the rods should of been thrown away bc of some dings here and there on them. They may last years but they may last one good rev. So, were going to have the crank check this week and if its good, He said," I got my money's worth just in the crank because its steal not cast".

Now, I have to still buy pistons smh, because with my 110cc heads and wanting to run 93 octain, i need to keep my cpr under 10:1 yes, ive read the huge discussion about that. f-bird88 said it well

Yea. I'll take picture next week and get them up here for everyone. I just didn't know what would be ok and what wouldn't. My machinist just said" you don't know if they will last". It looks like something came lose inside and dinged around. Not long. Not bad. But a couple of the rods have small nicks in them. Me, I didn't know what really to look for. So I'm thinking bent. Or cracked. Well. Definitely a leaning curve. I'm still going to use them. I will keep this build updated.

Status----crank is being checked and spec'ed. Be ready Thursday or Friday.

Oh no, I know your not saying that. I'm saying, I might if that crank is in good shape. I will snap some pictures, I'll try today, if nothing else, next Thursday/Friday.

On a second note. I'm on the market for some pistons. Small domes. -12cc .030 over 454.
