i have a sbc 350 with a 144 blower and water injection. i put a mallory hyfire vi ignition with boost retard on it .im looking at a new distributor for it.here are my choices.
accel 52100
mallory 4248201
msd 8361

these are all priced around 230 so cost is not a issue.so i think im comparing 4 of the same.which one would you get based on durability and performance?please help me decide .thanks dave.

I have had a ton of MSD distributors and no problems. So, I vote for the MSD.

Good luck!

Summitt?

While Summit is a great company, I'd check on the quality/origin of a part that they put their name on. Some things are fine and I bought things from them that way, but for something like this I'd do a little homework first.

I try to buy American made products when I can. Edelbrock and a few others have my business when I can.

Accell and Mallory are owned by Mr.Gasket now. A good reputable company usually, but I have little recent experience with their distributors or knowledge on where/how they are made these days.

Still, if it were my decision I'd be leaning towards MSD but researching the others...and buy it from Summit (or Jegs)

Steve

I would eliminate the Accel right off the bat, I hate their products. The MSD would get my vote.

If it says Accel (or Mr Gasket) on it, I run - it was good stuff years ago. Now, strictly MSD. There has to be a reason for all the MSD ignition equipment(with some Crane boxes now) seen on NASCAR racers and never Accel
