Choppin the top
I have a 1951 mercury and I would like to chop the top, I don't think that I am going to try and tackle this myself and would like to know if anyone would happen to know someone in Louisiana that is repetable that I could send my baby to. Thanks, robert

From what I understand that is a hard one to chop. It must be planed out and all that stuff. Dick Dean is one of the best on that body style, but he is retired and lives in California. I think there are some magz articles on this chop on the internet. Do a search. 49, 50, and 51 are all close IIRC. Like od39 says, go to showa and find those cars and talk to those people and find someone that does. It will not be cheap. It will require a 2nd roof or someone that is good making stuff from scratch.
