Chopping a top on a 4 door chevy sedan
Has anyone out there chopped a top on a 32 chevy 4 door sedan? Any advice you could give me would be appreciated. Also, guys have told me that if I wanted to put in a full metal roof, look for a station wagon, (make and year unknown) because they would have the correct curve. Any advice on that????

Try this book.
Also look for "How to Chop Tops in 301 Photos" by Motorbooks International. It is out of print but can probably find one on ebaY. It does a step by step on chopping a Model A sedan which is similar to the 32 Chevy.

The secret to chopping a top is that you must have it done in your head, and paper, measurements, etc before you start. There are infinite ways to chop any top. Are you going to lean the pillars, keep the roof level or slant it forward or back, etc ?

tips
I am working on a chop and the best tip so far is to take some pictures and do the chop with scissors and scotch tape..
helps with figuring out the look and the spots where i will have to stretch show up real quick.. Using a van top or station wagon top seems to be a good idea and I may look at that on my car.. OMT
