For all that gave prayers, thanks, keep the family in mind.

Josh is in a better place now, he took a turn for the worse this last week and didn't make it.

I had my wife call back checking and were expecting different news, you know - no news is good news? Everyone thought we already knew - its times like these that living overseas sucks!

For those that didn't see the orgininal thread, Josh was hit by a car while driving his moped on Christmas Eve.

I'm so sorry, Dutch. This comes as a huge shock to me, because I thought he was improving substantially. Please continue to be strong, and if you need anything whatsoever (even if it's just someone to listen), let any one of us know.

I'm at a loss for words Dutch - life is so fragile and short.
Today in Portland, a candle burns for Josh.

Found out some details yesterday. Josh had a modified moped. He could reach up to speeds of 40 mph. He had a helmet on but not strapped . He was hit when a car turned into a store parking lot. He was riding where he shouldn't have been.
All I can say is he was your typical teen-aged rambunctious kid.
Lots of the kids in the neighborhood have sidelined their mopeds for a while, some even got rid of them outright.

Josh asked dad about taking the moped out - dad said no.
Josh proceeded to mom - mom did what moms do best and said yes, but only go where your supposed to go.

Life is so hard some times .
