Chrome Moly Pushrods

I have a question regarding Chrome Moly Pushrods for a SBC 350.
I have been told that only one end of the pushrods are hardened, is this the case and how can I tell which end it is?

Right, both ends should be the same.

That is true. I ran into that once when I bought some parts through ebay. The rods were only hardened on one end. They were very easy to tell which end though. They did a great job at not wearing from the guide plates. They did even a better job bending in the middle. Guess it served me right trying to be cheap where cheap wont work

Just to answer your question about how to tell if a part is hard, if you can't file it, it's hard. Now don't go filing on your new pushrods, this is just for your information only.

Chrome Moly Pushrods

How can you tell the hardened end of the pushrod from the non-hardened end.

How can you tell the difference between the hardened end and non-hardened end of the pushrod.

The end will look like it’s added on too. If you have those, throw them away and buy a real set. Where did you get them?
