I know a body shop manager that purchased the paint from ALSA. The stuff looks really good but it isn't chrome, close, really close, but you can tell the difference. The paint is also very expensive and hard to use for a novice. The shop manager actually made a trip to the ALSA factory (coast to coast) to learn how to use it.

i have some of the alsa stuff here in the shop and your right, looks good but not chrome. its more like polished aluminum. actually thats what it is, microscopic aluminum particles. i dont use it much here because its such a process to use. you have to first paint your part black then clearcoat and wetsand and buff it. spray the mirra chrome, wait 24 hours then clear it again. if your interested you can get it from www.innate.com cheaper but you wont find any type of chrome paint that looks anwhere close to chrome like the stuff from alsa. you will need to have the parts rechromed.

Interesting stuff

That mirrachrome might be really useful for restoring interior pieces. Specifically, I'm thinking of those clear plastic parts that the manufacturers used for medallions and other emblems where the plastic is imprinted from behind, then painted.

Seems like this product would make reproduction emblems easier to make, or restoring emblems with the paint pealing. It might not be concours quality, but it would be a heck of a lot better than the chrome paint sold in the part stores. For a driver, it could come out really nice based on the pics on the alsa site.

Chrome paint.

Try this.

Buy some adhesive Chrome Tape, the kind used for striping cars etc.

cut a strip long, and wide enough to cover the part.

You will find it will follow all the curves and crevices if rubbed
in gently with a small rounded stick.

Mosstrooper.

The stuff from alsa is a decent product but it doesn't look at all like chrome.More like alum.,and I have used it many times.I would rather have it plated.
