chrome polish for engine

hey i have recently bought a pair of chrome valve covers and air cleaner, and i was going to use mothers chrome polish but i wasnt sure if that was the best stuff for engine chrome polish becuase it will get hot. What brand do you guyz recommend for engine polish?

The polish doesn't stick around. You use it to remove blemishes, but its not a wax, so very little if any stays behind. Polish is like toothpaste, its abrasive and polishes things, but don't confuse it with a protectant like wax.

I use Flitz and like it. Wenol makes really good stuff too. Otherwise you can use one of the many things on the market to polish metal.

You can put wax on it and the heat won't damage it, but it also probably won't stick around long either.

awsome thanks for the info. thats was i was worried about was if there would be a residue that would stick around..sad to say i havnt owned any chrome parts on an engine so thanks for the info!
