Post Chrome Wheels rust?

I just bought some Supremes from Imperial Wheel Co. and one of them has some rust around the lug holes. Will this lead to further corrosion?

once you have rust it will start spreading, polish it off the rims with a light steel wool, do not rub hard or it might scratch the chrome.when all rust is remover aply some wax and wipe it off till you get a nice shine. Once the rust is gone it shouldint come back for a while but keep an i on it. The wax will protect it.
good luck, Matt

I use a mag wheel polish like Mothers to take off chrome rust safely. Comes right off and the chrome is shinier. The other methods suggested sound pretty dangerous.

Send it back for replacement, rust means the chrome is not intact and is the first sign of other problems sure to follow.

For God's sake do not use steel wool, even stainless steel wool is not advisable especially on a new wheel.

Get that wheel exchanged, nothing brand new should have corrosion on it.
