chromed brass?

hay guys!
ive been working on this v-drive flatbottom for a while now,
this weeks project is getting the cavatation plate buckeld up.

the pedistals that mount to the plate are brass with chrome plating.

ANYONE KNOW A GOOD WAY TO TAKE THE CHROME PLATING OFF WITHOUT DAMAGING THE BRASS???

i would love to polish the brass!

A plating shop can reverse the process to in effect plate the chome off the part. Otherwise you're stuck with taking it off by abraision what risks damaging the part's looks.

if its SOLID brass; just put 800 grit on a random orbit; then follow up with 1000, 1500 and then buff with buffing compound. PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR. Ask a Navy or Army guy in his 50s or 60s about keeping brass polished. Its seriously annoying and CONSTANT. it never ends. If you want the brass look, have it powdercoated with clear powdercoat.

If its not solid brass, doing the above procedure will ruin it
