Looking at these photos literally puts a lump in my throat!

Started me thinking about all the strips I remember from the 50's-60's.

Strips that are all gone now.

Half-moon bay, Fremont, they even ran here at Reid-Hilliview airport for a while.

willys36 would have felt right at home - nearly every other car is a Willys!
In fact he has a whole section on Willys!
I think losing these opportunities for kids to get out and compete is one of the things that has caused much of the trouble (and tragedies) with street racing and gang formation.
