Classic Chevy Body Alignment

I am in the middle of a Frame-Off on a 57 Chevy and want to know if anyone has ever did a complete body alignment after restoring the body back on the frame. I've replaced ever floor panel and frame brace. The body had several shims in certain place but I think after replacing the braces their locations are now meaningless. The point here is to get the doors and front fenders straight with minimum gaps. Like to know if you have experience and can give some hints on how to do it right the first time.

Any suggestions help..

Check out "basics of basics" here on the website..Basically get the body bolted in place and then hang the doors so they fit then go to the fenders and hang them..I would expect to do quite a bit of tweaking and shimming to get one of those "just right" and yes the old shims may not mean a whole lot any more..

re: Classis Chevy Body Alignment

Thanks Modas, I checked out that website and it was loaded with good details of all the pain and anquish I already went through. Great photos and advise.

Also Thanks One more time. I will check out "basics to basic" I am getting ready to hang the doors and have lots of shims to place between the frame and the body to get it straight.
