Question clean 56 wagon for a 55 belair project

I am about ready to trade my clean 56 two door for a project 55 belair. I think the thrill of the trade and a new project has become my enemy. I love my wagon but have thought of starting all over again, from the frame this time. Many locals give me the thumbs up every time I drive my wagon but honestly I am not satisfied. With a little extra money and my 56 I can start fresh with a 55 hard top! The guy I'm making the deal with is a real pro and I'm afraid I'll get the short end of the stick. Any input from You guy's and gal's?

Keep the '56 and just give it a facelift if you want to start anew. Don't trade, I'd rather have the '56, its cooler and has more personality than an everyday '55. If you want to trade for something I have a '77 Trans-Am, I'd love to have the wagon Don't trade for no stinkin '55 man.

Never could understand why the 55s and 57s are so much more desireable than the 56. I've always thought the 56 was a much better looking car. Most friends agree with me. Think it must be peer presure. Do whats best for you, I'd keep the 56.

Tell me about your wagon. Is it a dependable daily driver? I'd be interested in buying it. Send me a message.

I had a 57 but I always thought and still do that the 56 is a much better looking car than either 55 or 57. The money your going to put into the 55 could make your 56 a real show winner. I understand about starting a new project and the excitement that goes with it. You could buy one of my Corvairs and have a real good time. After all there is not much challenge in doing a 55 after your have done a 56. Go on to something different if you need a challenge.

Not a 57 Chevy fan. The 55 is a great car to give a bad attitude to. The 56 is the show stopper of the three. It is a pretty car. keep it.

Several times in my life i have chastised my self for not keeping a car, that i really liked. Rarley is the bird in the bush as good as the one in the hand.I have a ole 57 chev pickup, and you know what ,i get lookie loos all the time. Now this truck ain`t no show truck. I use it everyday. And it is not even the short bed( This year has short, long and intermediate beds.)It is the intermediate bed. I still enjoy the looks and the yells. But most of all i enjoy it cause it is mine, and i have done and do all the work on it. You might say i`ve become attached to it. But us ole biker guys are like that. Good luck on your decision. To thine own self be true!!!!Let us all know what you decide.

Thanks for all the input.Looks like the deal is going down. Nothing is permanent yet and the pro is going to let me grab all my goodies, centerlines and msd stuff and polished aluminum stuff for starters. My wagon really is cool though.I'll toot around in the 55 for awhile in hopes to get a nomad in the future or something else if my tastes change. If anything positive comes out of this exchange it is going to be a revived intrest.I'm going to keep everyone posted on my progress just for fun.
