cleaning aluminum heads and SS valves

Is it okay to use a Brass crimped wire wheel on a die grinder to clean old gasket material and carbon from the mating surface of aluminum heads.I tried a small area and it looked pretty good. I would also like to clean the carbon from the valves using this method

Please advise

You will much better off using a scotch brite wheel on a disc. The brass will remove old gaskets and carbon but it will alos mar the aluminum.

Do not use either on the decks of an aluminum head. Or you will be milling them to straighten up the mess.

What about the stainless valves? Would the brass wheel be ok for those?
