Clear coat the intake manifold ?

I just glass beaded my Aluminum intake manifold should I clear coat this to protect it ?

I usually paint them with aluminum paint if I want the natural color, all the clears I've used tended to yellow after a while on the engine. I think Eastwood makes a clear that doesn't do that but I've never tried it.

I used dupli color high temp clear on one manifold and it yellowed after only 2 months. Try to find someone that can powder coat it for you thats your best bet.

I've used the Eastwood satin clear on some aluminum parts, and it does turn yellow....

I've had Krylon Acrylic clear on my bead-blasted Z-28 manifold and it has not yellowed a bit in 3 years.

I did a brand new Performer RPM SBC in hi temp clear and wasn't happy with the results. Looked great at first but started turning colors after a while. If I had to do it over again I wouldn't have done it in clear and would have just left it. Hope this helps in your decision.
