Clear coat problems

The clear coat on my vehicle is peeling off and has turned a milky white this is occuring only on the hood and roof. The vehicle is black and it appears that the paint under the clear coat is fine, I have seen on t.v where the clear has been removed to add graphics, flames etc. then recleared, any help from you guys would be appreciated since the rest of the vehicle does not need repainting.

thanks

Only soultion Is to sand it down and repaint it if you want quality results. You could always try to wet sand the clear off with a 400-600 paper. Depending how bad it is, it might take you forever...

It's called delamination and will need to be repainted, depending on the condition of the rest of the paint you may be able to get away with just painting that part and blending without it looking funky...

what kind of car? Pics?

Attached is a pic of a car I may be buying that has quite a bit of the clear coming off...

Thanks to both of you who replied, my truck is a black 92 Silverado shortbed and is my daily driver, I have been ratholeing my money in hopes of finishing my 1940 Chevy truck, oh well I might as well just redo the 92, ya gotta look good no matter what your driving, thanks again.
