Clear Coat that sticks to Gelcoat?

Hey guys,
I recently discovered the HOK Kosmic Glo that makes your car glow in the dark. Now I think putting it on a car would be pretty ghetto, and look retarded because I would get sick of looking at it EVERY DAY. BUT putting it on my boat would be pretty darn cool. I have a 20' Wakeboard boat and we do a lot of night riding.

The issue is, you have to put the Kosmic Glo powder into the clear coat, and I dont know of any Clear Coat that would stick to Gelcoat.

Anybody know of one? Here is a pic of the boat. I think it would be sweet to ake the yellow glow so you would see the outline of the decals

I am pretty sure it you sand the gelcoat with 320 to 400 grit sandpaper, you will get good adhesion.

Many boat repairs are done by using paint, because gelcoat does not surface cure exposed to air.

Follow all the normal paint prep steps. Wash good, use wax and grease remover, sand , W&G again, ETC.

That was an abbreviated list. Follow all the instructions on the clear coat's data sheet.

This would be my approach to do a HOK job on a boat. First clean and sand the area to be painted. Then prime with SPI epoxy (probably gray) then with HOK you apply a base coat low in your prefered color then the cosmic glow material would be mixed into SPI intercoat clear and applied then the normal universal clear over that..Hok requires a base to be applied prior to applying the candy material..

I have tried most all of it and now do what is known to work..

I'd think you'd want a marine grade paint..
