If using a Nason Ful-Base, does it matter what kind of clear coat I shoot over it?
I know I have about 24 hour window to hit it with the clear. When I picked up the paint, I told the guy to give me EVERYTHING I needed for the base, clear coat and he forgot the clear ( that'll teach me to look in the boxes ) anyway, it's Sunday so if I want to finish it all today, The option available is a Duplicolor Lacquer clear coat from the local parts store, otherwise, I'll have to wait till tomorrow to get the appropriate clear.
This is by no means a critical paint job, it's just an old work truck, shooting it with Nason Phantom Gray Effect ( metal flake gun metal gray with a touch of green)

Weather is nice today, may not get many more of these for a while.

If my only option was Lacquer, I would wait until I could get the proper urethane clear. I know that is not what you want to hear, but Lacquer is NOT the answer to your problem. After 24 hours you will have to scuff the base and re-shoot it.

The loose paint in the cans in Lacquer, I didn't check to see what they had in the rattle cans. I wonder if that is Urethane? I'm just doing the roof of a crew cab and a winch bumper right now. I kind of hate to spend all that money on those things though.

Oh well, the rattle cans had pretty similar formulas.
Anyway, by the time I got through sanding out a few * small * rust spots the day started dissappearing so it will be pretty late by the time I get to shooting if I even get the base done at all today so I'll just get the correct stuff tomorrow.
