clearcoat
Hi, My name is Zoro and I've been a pro bodyman and painter for over 30 years. Right now I'm working on my 71 chevelle convertible and my 53 Harley panhead. I have repaired and refinished almost every type of vehicle made, plus I have used almost every brand and type of autobody materials sold in America. I have used 5 Star clearcoats. It is a very good clear. I use the Xtreame brand with the fast activator when the temp is in the 60's . It usually dries dust free in about 10 to 15 minutes. I like it because it can be sprayed over any ureathane base plus since it dries fast there's less chances of runs or dirt in the finish. I never paint a vehicle all at once. I'll paint the top oneday then the front and side the next then the rear and other side the next day. It takes longer but there's less overspray to deal with. Doing it this way gives you better vision and concentration. Because it's hard to see how wet and shiney the surface is if you can't see the surface. Too much overspray in the air will cause dry areas and runs. I hope this info about 5star clears helps.

You must go through alot of masking material not painting the car at one time? How long does it take for you to paint a vehicle? If you spraying in a paint booth you usually don't have a problem with excessive airborne overspray impairing your vision.
