Cloth seats and seat heaters
I am needing either buckets or a 60/40 type of front seat for my 49 chevy PU. In Iowa the humidy gets so high that leather gets sticky or real hot and doesnt breath well. Cloth works best for me. But I need heated seats for spring and fall cruising. Can after market seat heat pads be added to cloth seats? Why hasn't this been done on OEM vehicles?

Yes, you can put an aftermarket heater under a cloth seat. The heater is between the seat foam and the sew foam. It doesn't matter what fabric is on top of the sew foam. The reason the factory doesn't heat cloth seats is that the cloth seat is far less expensive than a leather seat or vinyl seat. People who buy the least expensive options are far less likely to want any things like heated seats.
