clutch fluid feed problem
Hi guys,
I thought I had my problem licked when I came up with my idea to feed my master cylinder. My fluid reservoir has a 5/16 outlet, which i have a short length of rubber hose feeding a steel braided hose which is -3am (the steel braided line has an AN adapter on the end, with a 5/16 metal nipple fitting attached.) The hose then runs to the master cylinder and attaches to the master with a 90 degree fitting. However, I'm not able to get enough fluid through the AN hose to feed the master with this setup, so I need to up the ante. I now have a larger clutch fluid resevoir with a 3/8 outlet. The problem I'm having now is finding a fitting that I can use to attach to the bottle. I wanted to use a 3/8-24 adapter to a hose barb, and just clamp rubber hose from the bottle to the barb. However, I can't find a barb fitting anywhere that will work with what I have. The only other choice I can think of is bending pipe around super tiny spaces, but this will be very difficult. Can anyone remember if they have found hose barb fittings with 3/8-24 adapters? Any speed shops? |

i checked speedway -- they have 3/8-24 IFF to 1/8 NPT. I figure I could get a 1/8 NPT hose barb easy enough. The 3/8-24 IFF fitting though, I don't know where I could source that from (other than speedway).
What about inverted flare nuts? a 3/8-24 flare nut with some tubing bent to specs shouldn't be hard to find, right? Maybe napa? |
