clutch kit questions

hey guys i know this is not a hotrod question but i could use some advice from the machanics who have done this job. i have a 2000 ford focus with a 5speed, right now it wont hardly pull its self out of its tracks.. i was told it needed a new clutch kit my question is. is this somthing i can do at home? will the be any special tools i'll need i;ve never worked on a clutch before so this will be my first. the kit its self is about 250buck and im not sure to the amount of labor costs so i was hopeing i could do this myself and save a few bucks...thanks guys for any advice...
