Clutch pedal ratio?

Im making my own clutch pedal assembly for my 36 ford pickup. its a completely mechanical setup using rods and a pivot arm. my question is, what is a good final ratio for the whole assembly? the tranny is a t-5 and from the looks of the old setup out of the camaro, the pedal has a 6:1 ratio and then about a third of the ratio is lost in the pivot arm making it a 4:1 final ratio. since im making everything i get to choose the ratio i want. right now im running a stock clutch but in the future ill probly go with a performance one. what do you think?

thanks!

Clutch pedal ratio?

Sorry to take so long for you to get an answer but I had to go through a bunch of books and magazines to try and find an answer. (I wanted to know the answer too)

According to Frank Oddo's "The Street Rodder's Handbook" brake pedal ratio should be 5 to 1 for manual and 3 to 1 power assisted.

The only reference I could find was that a stock clutch pedal ratios are about 6 to 1. This compares with your ratio as well. So I guess 6 to 1 would be a good ratio.

Perhaps bringing it up to the top of the board will prompt someone else to answer.

Are you hanging the pedal..or is it going to be in the floor.....like a stock 36 Ford pickup ??

My 40 Ford with the stock clutch linkage .......was closer to 7 to 1 ......but was very easy to push.....

no problem im not in too much of a hurry. my pedals will be coming through the floor. im using the brake and clutch assembly out of a 32 ford. the clutch pedal ratio for the pedal itself is 5.75:1, so now i think ive decided when i make the pivot arm it will be a 1:1 ratio, that will give me the 5.75:1 all the way to the clutch fork. thanks for your help!
