me ande my boy have a 76alston tube chassis a arm suspension vega with a 383 smalllock chevy dana rearend with a new clutchturbo 400.we installed the trans with a new pressure plate and cluth disc and when you step on the cluth pedal the pedal will not go down to release the clutch. it has manual linkage. is there a lineup procedure .this is my 3rd transmission i ve used in the car which we have ran for 30yrs. off and on i remember it calls for a .040 or .050 air gap when the clutch pedal is pressed to the floorbut the is not going down

Possiby you don't have the correct throw out bearing.Do you have the long or short one installed?Could be the springs in the pressure plate are too weak.
