Cobalt327

Having had my grubby hands on every nut and bolt with this corvette the last few years, nothing will piss you off more then to get everything working and then the th400 trans don't shift right.

Trans are the one thing, I just don't screw with how ever a PM to Cobalt and he set me in motion, it was kinda the opposite way I was figuring, I needed to go.
But after two weeks he was right and as of yesterday, I have a trans that will shift as smooth as a new car and yet break the tires totally lose going into second, if I have my size 11 in the 454.

Cannot thank Cobalt enough and you just can't beat this place for knowledge.

A class act he is, for sure.

Barry

cobalt327 is a very knowledgable guy. His posts are informative, and to the point. I don't disagree with him much at all.

Yep Mark is a good man IMHO and i trust his advice, I don't know where we would be without people like him. JMO And not to take anything from Mark but he is one of many on this site that can and will help you and know what they are talking about and want to help others.
I know he has helped me several times.

i think you could ask Cobalt any question about a car and he will give you his best opinion and let you take it or leave it. If he argues with you about something just drop it because in the end you are wrong and he doesn't seem to care that he is right he just doesn't want you to be wrong. I enjoy getting answers from him and would like to shake his hand one of these days

If I see his name come up on a topic, I usually open it and check out his comment. There have been plenty of time where I picked up info and learned a few ways that helped me as well. For a Chevy guy he's alright! It would nice if he changed his name to Cobalt351W though.

I am humbled to read this, guys. Thank you all- sincerely.

Cole has it right- "he is one of many on this site that can and will help you"... and that is what brought me to this site and kept me coming back.

Kudos to all the guys here- I've learned from all of you.

One thing, I want to make clear, there are a lot of people on here that could have helped, I read the engine, elect treads everyday and I to am guilty of seeing a certain person post and going to that thread even if the title does not interest me.

Never have been lucky enough to have meant Mark but one day will, I knew he would shoot straight and my first PM was "something" like you won't hurt my feelings if over my head just say so and I will load car up and take to a trans shop, he did real good working with the handicap on this car!

Thanks again Mark and all you other guys I have stolen information from before.

I'm really to embarrassed to say but if you must know mike.

Back when body was off, I put Mobil 1 in trans and for last 10 years car was not driven and then only driven from my garage to basement, then nothing for a year.
First thought was modulator, OK cheap enough and replaced, sucked on old one and it was fine, so I figured setting, a valve is sticking, bought some Lucas stuff, let idle for 30 minutes, going through gears on and off, no good but then just put to floor and at 5100-5500 it hit second, I was hanging on with both hands at that point as rear end broke loose so only know approx RPM, no clue on MPH.

All along Mark kept saying check vacuum to modulator, I had tried once but exhaust pipe were hot and could not do it.
Some how mixed in with the vacuum lines is a steel tube mounted to top of trans / engine and somehow it got crimped or plugged, I bypassed with hose and bingo, perfect.
Ordered a new tube and will take old one off when it gets here Wed.

Of course now, I have polluted my Mobile 1 with the Lucas, so filter is on way and will dump that stuff, at same time.

I can say Duh!
