coil overs sizing

I am planning on changing my old coil overs to new. not sure what the spring rate is on the old ones but the car sometimes bottoms out on bumps. This is on my 31 chevy coupe all steel, with rear fenders and 4 link, 10 bolt rear end. any idea what spring rate would be good and what brand of coil over. SC

bottoming out can mearly be a function of the shocks being blown too and in most cases is. The "correct" spring rate will ultimately be determined by the weight of the vehicle and the length of coil over you can get in there at ride height.
