Is it possible to do a coil spring conversion to leaf springs, With a-arms built for coil setup. Because everybody knows theres no way to keep the springs in once making substanial power. Or if I could just add rear air bags, Because arent they bolted in?
Rear coil springs. When you make a lot of power they'll spit from the bracket because the sudden movement and jerking of the rear axle and a arm. Haven't you ever heard about it? It's why leaf springs are superior by default in the rear. I'm looking for racing performance. I was thinking maybe air bags would work to because aren't the bolted in?
Thank you for reply
I've never seen such a thing happen. You must be hanging around with a bunch of tree-stump mechanics who don't understand suspension systems. Show me a pic of what you're referring to.
I think you might get a better response if you list out all information for the vehicle. What is it? Are you or did you have a problem. There are many solutions. If you have a coil spring suspension, then I would assume you have a 4 bar type suspension. If you get that much movement to have the springs 'spit' out, then I think you have bushing issues. Bolt the springs in and put on some good bars with good bushings.
If you are talking about that 67 truck, the coil springs are bolted in,and Your rear arms are the same design NASCAR has been using for years. They are certainly looking for race performance.
yup the springs are bolted in. both ends, they are not going anywhere
