Coilovers or not ?

Help! I want to lower the front of my 55 a little, it has a 350 cu in, 4 speed, Hooker Competition headers, that hank a little below the frame, if I use coilovers for a small block will the car sag too bad or should I use the big block springs, I saw an artical somewhere that used original springs that were 2 inches shorter with a coilover shock and it dropped the front a little. I do not have drop spindels.

You might try posting this in the Suspension/Steeering/Brakes forum - it will get more attention there from folks with the right expertise.

It will take some fab work to put coilovers in since the shock mount was never made to support the weight of the car. Coilovers will lower you car but are adjustable. They will ride stiffer too. It will be a whole new car, i really like the feel of coilovers, but i wouldn't say the ride is comfy, it feels sporty. Ride in a car with coilovers before you invest any time or money into them since you might not like the ride.
Can a mod move this to suspension section?
