I have used a GM van column..with good sucess on F100's before.
If you automatic is a 3 speed.......a mid 70's Chevrolet/GMC van works great. It is small, has the P R N D D2 D1 right on the column..has a neutral start switch and takes the very common GM car steering wheel ( and all the custom stuff for them.)
Here is one in my 32 Ford.....I use the van column in MOST all of my projects. I have 4 or 5 " in waiting " ......enough to last me the rest of my life .......doing projects.
