Now, that is cool in a cartoonish sort of way
Somebody wanted something different, and could afford not to worry about what it costs (and it was probably several times what he got for it)

I see the Mecedes Benz name on the side and a circa 1955 M-B F1 car on the back of it.

They were called Renntransporters and still hold the title (so far as I know) of the fastest Race Car Transporters in the world, topping out at 105 mph, loaded.
They used the same injected inline 6 as the 300SLR

They carried not only the F1 cars but also the 300 SLR road-racing cars that won the Mille Miglia with Stirling Moss at the wheel.

When M-B had the horrendous F1 crash in 1955 at leMans (the worst racing accident in history) , M-B withdrew from racing and the Renntransporters were retired. Last one was scrapped in 1967, but M-B has now re-created one for the M-B museum

What's really interesting about these single car carriers MB built is their use. They were intended for fast access between races or to bring the car back to the factory for overnight repairs. The race program for MB up intil the war was so intense that every minute counted! Now they just stick the car into a plane and off it goes!.
