If you are a junkyard builder, be proud. Hotrodding is for everyone. If the rich want to hotrod, then build some **** for them and take their fair money. If you don't have a lot of cash, then be proud of your work!
You are right I have said it before, I can look at something and say I wouldn't do it but damn you have got to give credit to the guy for the passion he had to build it!

I have been to an event near me with a collection of "Art cars". I am NOT going to do anything like this but damn I give them credit for pulling off some hilarious stuff.

But I can still say that they need their head examined.

Isn't that wild, and it was a conversion car done by a company who did about 50 of them!

i don't criticize anyone's car---to do so speaks volumes about ourselves and society in general. i do, however, question some of the modifications done.

To me the real question is, Does the car serve the owner and is the owner getting enjoyment out of it? That is all that matters.

I believe that some of the people that do these ridiculous builds want others to point and laugh. It in some cases its just an attention whore looking for his next exhibit to flaunt around town.

Man why it is that we always bring peoples feelings or PC views of righteousness into an otherwise fun thread?

If anyone was worried about being laughed at they would park the thing in a garage and never be seen in public. I say if you are going to drive some "abnormal" contraption on the road be ready for riticule as well as admiration, your gonna get both.

Realistically the only time I question what someone has done to a car is when I think they simply made a mistake in that they don't understand the mistake made. Kinda like the full blown 50's custom with the billet steering wheel. It's almost like they love the 50's custom look but don't understand that the wheel seriously blows it, or they had to replace the wheel that was on there and they didn't know where to find one because they aren't a "car guy" and thought that billit one in a Speedway catalog was their only choice?

Stuff like that is where I will often scratch my head more than anything. Seeing a wonderful car "ruined" for the ages is another thing. Sure, it's THEIR car, but it won't be forever, you know what I mean? They are only "caretakers" of that car for the time being.

It all comes down to the simple fact that it is our opinions that make the world go round and if not for them every car would be the same, and that would SUCK big time. We don't have to like what other people do to their cars, we only have to be polite and not tell them what we think unless it's positive.

Truthfully in the big picture of things, the only person you have to please is yourself. Everything and everybody else is gravy. If it makes you feel good, it's righteous.

I ain't gonna argue with you about the Vette!
Trick truck!. Now if you set the trunk, floor and all, on hydraulics to lift up so you could slide a 4x4 sheet of plywood under it, more trick!

I like custom cars cause it shows an individual's creativeness or lack of. I view it as an escape from just fixing something cause for the most part the guys doing the customization actually gets to kick around ideas. It's exciting to just have a meeting to kick around those ideas, or to envision what it will look like, and eventually seeing it unfold in front of your eyes. I might have to make a section in one of my videos highlighting some of these cars or cars like them... but just the horrible ones for laughs.
