I got to "admire" this in person yesterday...

I guess the "mechanic" watches the gauges....

I guess it's still a truck. I has a complete 5.3 drivetrain.

Isn't it incredible that someone would spend the time, money and energy to do that to a vehicle, look at it when it's done and say WOW, that looks good. I guess to each their own but, some modifications made to vehicles have inspired car designers to incorporate that modification into our daily drivers. I guess this modification never caught the eye of any designer.

I remember back in the 60's and early 70's, many people thought it was cool to lift the back end of a car to fit big wheels and tires underneath, never cared for it, fender flares where another way to do it but, OMG, talk about taking it to an extreme. I wonder if he choose a wheel with a huge off set or stuck a rear diff out of a truck in that Corvette?

I like the cornering light built into the front fender so he didn't run over the curb with the rear tire when turning in the dark...

I didn't even notice that, I was focussing on the massive fender flares...I will say that it does make that Mako Shark body style look more like a shark...cross bred with a 1940's Ford tractor.

Thatīs the way it was until someone, Scott Sullivan I believe, made the leap forward and shortened the rear axle and added tubs to accommodate the big tires.

Poor thing!

I wish I had a photo of a 69 GT500 in my town in the seventies. It had huge flared fenders that were undone! The guy had cut slits into to the quarters and front fenders rolling the metal up and out forming a flair. But it was never welded, or even supported with a piece of round stock or something! So the metal was flapping up and down as he drove! NO KIDDING!
